In this study, we developed an Er-fiber laser operating at a repetition rate of several megahertz for applications such as multiphoton microscopy. The repetition rate of an Er-fiber laser oscillator using a 3×3 coupler was reduced, followed by power amplification using an EDFA and pulse compression. As a result, stable mode-locked operation was achieved at a repetition rate of 3.2 MHz, and high-peak-power femtosecond pulses with a minimum pulse duration of 95 fs and a peak power of 198 kW were obtained.
