An electrolyzed water battery generates electricity by utilizing the pH difference between two types of electrolyzed water; however, its performance is limited by output degradation caused by an insufficient supply of reactants. In this study, the effect of magnetic field application on battery performance was investigated. The results showed that both the open-circuit voltage and short-circuit current increased under a magnetic field of 100 mT. In addition, the output energy decreased with decreasing dissolved oxygen concentration, indicating that not only the pH difference but also dissolved oxygen plays an important role in determining the battery performance. These findings suggest that magnetic field applications can enhance battery performance by promoting ion transport and improving the supply of reactants.
