In radiation therapy, the prescribed dose must be delivered to patients as accurately as possible. In high-precision radiation therapy utilizing advanced delivery techniques such as IMRT/VMAT, measurements for patient-specific quality assurance (QA) are routinely performed. In recent years, while dose distribution measurements using multidimensional dosimeters have become feasible, these measurement systems remain highly expensive. This presentation will review the current status and challenges of dosimeters used in the field of radiation therapy, and will also introduce the development of a new multidimensional dosimeter.
