Vanadium dioxide (VO2) has been extensively investigated after Morin first reported its metal–insulator transition (MIT) at approximately 67 °C. In recent years, thermochromic smart windows utilizing the infrared transmittance modulation associated with the MIT have attracted considerable attention. However, the relatively low visible-light transmittance of VO2 remains a major obstacle to practical applications. Therefore, this study aims to improve the visible-light transmittance of VO2 by Sn doping.
