[9a-A24-9]Gain Evaluation of a Fishbone-Type Kinetic Inductance Parametric Amplifier

To realize an intermediate-frequency (IF) amplifier for large-scale multibeam receivers in radio astronomy, we designed and fabricated a NbTiN-based kinetic inductance traveling-wave parametric amplifier (KITWPA) using a fishbone-type transmission line. The fabricated device had a transmission line length of 0.24 m and was evaluated at 4 K. Experimental results confirmed amplification based on degenerate four-wave mixing through the observation of the generated idler signal. Furthermore, gain measurements showed that the device achieved approximately 3 dB gain over the frequency range from 1 to 3 GHz.
