Single-molecule junctions are nanostructures formed by trapping a molecule between metallic electrodes and have attracted considerable attention for their potential applications in functional nanoscale devices. Physical properties of single-molecule junctions, such as electrical conductance, exhibit significant variability, which remains a major obstacle to their practical device applications. However, molecular design principles that effectively suppress such variability have not yet been established. In this study, we investigated the influence of the molecular connection site on fluctuations in the physical properties of single-molecule junctions using a series of naphthyridine derivatives.
