We analyzed the circuit operation of a tapping-mode AFMP via simulation for the purpose of measuring the thermoelectric voltage of thermoelectric materials. We modeled the tapping drive as a switching operation and evaluated the effects of key parameters on measurement accuracy and response speed. The analysis confirmed that the potential rises in a step-like manner and converges to a steady-state value, primarily due to the time constant effect of the wiring capacitance. Furthermore, we confirmed that a pull-down resistor in the input stage is necessary for stable operation, but that its resistance value involves a trade-off between measurement accuracy and imaging speed, and that the wiring capacitance affects the measurement time.
