It has been reported that the plasma-activated Ringer’s lactate solution induces apoptosis in cancer cells via reactive oxygen species. In this study, anticipating an increase in the uptake of reactive oxygen species associated with cancer cell glucose metabolism, we compared Ringer’s lactate solution with sorbitol added to that without sorbitol. The results showed that plasma irradiation for 100 seconds or longer significantly reduced the cell viability of cancer cells in the sorbitol-containing Ringer’s lactate solution.
