Organic photoelectrochemical transistors (OPECTs) have attracted attention as devices that combine the light responsiveness of quantum dots (QDs) with the high signal amplification capabilities of organic electrochemical transistors (OECTs). While ascorbic acid (AA) is typically added to the electrolyte as an electron donor for QDs in many OPECTs, OECTs based on PEDOT:PSS generally do not contain AA. In this study, we report in detail on ESR studies of OPECTs under light irradiation to elucidate the photoresponse mechanism of OPECTs.
