SiO2 interface
We investigated the water structure at the SiO2/aqueous solution interface and the effect of Ca2+ adsorption using interface-selective HD-VSFG spectroscopy. The Imχ(2) spectra of CaCl2 solutions were similar to those obtained with NaCl at pH 2–10, but showed a marked difference at pH 12, suggesting specific adsorption of Ca2+.
