At last year's JSAP meeting, we reported a multimodal device capable of detecting both light and pressure within a single structure. The device comprises a flexible top electrode substrate and a bottom substrate, splitting the stacked structure of an organic photodetector. In this study, we significantly improved the large hysteresis in pressure detection—a conventional challenge—by introducing a microstructure to the top electrode. Furthermore, we successfully achieved real-time sensing of both contact and proximity using a single device.
