Beam shaping using computer-generated holograms (CGH) is a technique for generating arbitrary focal patterns and has applications in laser processing and volumetric displays. In this study, we investigated the correction of reconstruction position error in gradient-estimation-based in-system optimization of CGHs. Specifically, we assumed a positional mismatch of the reconstructed image between the forward propagation process in the optical system and the backward propagation process in the computational model. Through computer simulation, we demonstrated that stochastic parallel gradient descent (SPGD) can correct the reconstruction position error and obtain the desired reconstructed image.
