The existence of a quantum critical point (QCP) near the pseudogap endpoint in cuprate high-Tc superconductors has been suggested by several studies, but no definitive conclusion has yet been reached. In this study, we performed time-resolved pump–probe spectroscopy on overdoped (Bi,Pb)2Sr2CuO6+δ (Pb-Bi2201) and found that the quasiparticle relaxation time exhibits a critical power-law temperature dependence expected in the vicinity of a QCP.
