The substances produced by the reaction between oxygen radicals and tryptophan, a type of amino acid, are useful in agriculture and medical applications, but the specific reaction mechanism has not been elucidated. Therefore, in this study, the products were analyzed using mass spectrometry with isotope labeling. As a result, the direct incorporation of oxygen radicals into tryptophan was confirmed.
