In this symposium, we will share and discuss recent advances in photofunctional materials, photoelectrodes, solar cells, and electrochemical systems from a cross-disciplinary perspective, aiming to explore future directions of photoelectrode research for energy conversion. Through discussions on multicomponent material design, interface engineering, and hybrid device integration, we seek to establish new research frontiers within the Japan Society of Applied Physics and to promote deeper interdisciplinary collaboration among researchers. We expect that these discussions will serve as a foundation for future research development and community building, and here we conclude this symposium with a summary of its objectives and perspectives.
