Scintillators are phosphor materials that convert high-energy ionizing radiations into detectable light with photodetectors. They are widely employed in scintillation detectors for radiation monitoring, such as medical diagnosis, security inspections, and resource exploration. Recently, organic–inorganic hybrid materials have attracted increasing attention as a new class of scintillators that can be synthesized at low temperatures. In this study, Cu4I4(C4H8S)2 single crystal was synthesized by the solvent diffusion method. The optical properties and scintillation performance of the crystals were evaluated, and their crystal structure, and optical and scintillation properties were investigated.
