The application of thermal radiation absorbing metamaterials to the electrode at one end of a thermoelectric device improves the power generation characteristics. In this study, we focused on bismuth (Bi) thin films, which are broadband thin-film absorbers, instead of conventional metamaterials that require microfabrication, to optimize the structure of Bi thin-film absorbers and evaluate their effects on thermal radiation absorption and thermoelectric generation characteristics.
