To achieve high-brightness live-cell imaging under low excitation light using surface plasmon resonance, large-area gold nanodisk structures were fabricated by nanoimprint lithography, and the effects of thermal annealing on their optical properties were evaluated. Thermal treatment induced a short-wavelength shift and sharpening of the extinction peak, and SEM observations also revealed a reduction in disk diameter. These results demonstrate that the surface plasmon resonance peak can be tuned through thermal annealing.
