Split-ring resonators (SRRs) are well-established electromagnetic wave resonators. In recent years, significant efforts have focused on developing novel optical and electromagnetic wave devices, such as metasurfaces, that utilize these resonators. To realize such devices, it is essential to characterize the details of electromagnetic interactions as a function of SRR arrangement. This study presents a quantitative investigation of the distance-dependent electromagnetic interactions between planar SRRs, based on S11 measurements.
