From the standpoint of versatility in spin-wave–based electronic devices using magnonic crystals, it is desirable to develop methods for controlling spin waves other than thickness modulation. In this study, we focus on width-modulated magnonic crystals, which are easy to fabricate, and investigate their spin-wave characteristics using micromagnetic simulations. Through this approach, we aim to enhance the design flexibility of magnonic crystals and to present design guidelines for the formation of magnonic band gaps.
