As a measure to address the shortage of semiconductor talent, we developed beginner teaching materials that combine an LED with a piezoelectric element and examined a staged instructional approach. Experiencing energy harvesting through LED rectification and emission, together with the small-scale power generation of the piezoelectric element, is expected to raise awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We evaluated emission spectra and absorption, the relationships between vibration and voltage, and sensor characteristics, and depened understanding by observing differences in emission depending on polarity.
