We have been providing education on radiation at Fukui National College of Technology. In order to make radiation education more practical, an experiment was planned on the radiation shielding effect of various materials. In this study, high-specific-gravity glass, which is easy to adjust the specific gravity, was fabricated, and the experiment was designed to help students understand that radiation shielding efficiency depends on the mass of the material (the product of specific gravity and volume). We will also report on the effectiveness of the trial education.
