画期的な科学知識を早期に認識することを目的に近年のイノベーションの事例を対象に論文書誌情報を用いることでこれが可能となるかを議論してきた。結果鍵となる知識は異なる同質性を有する知識やクラスターを繋ぐブリッジとして生じていることを発見した。他方でこれらの知識やクラスターは意味的に遠い関係にあることから、本研究ではこれらの結合過程のメカニズムを探るため、発明者の認知の型をアブダクションに求め議論する。
