In organic photovoltaic (OPV) devices, the introduction of interpenetrating structures is expected to promote efficient charge separation. In this study, micro-crystallization of an acceptor material using the micro-space sublimation method and its application to OPVs were investigated. When evaporated films were introduced before and after the micro-space sublimation process, the samples with evaporated films deposited prior to sublimation exhibited reduced surface roughness. OPVs fabricated using this structure showed improved open-circuit voltage and short-circuit current, suggesting enhanced electron mobility and improved charge carrier extraction efficiency due to micro-crystallization.
