Using finite element electromagnetic simulations, we investigated the dispersion relations of TE modes propagating along the axial direction of a metal parallel plate dielectric cylinder structure. The results indicate that, by incorporating a mechanism to excite either the TE11 or TE01 mode along the dielectric cylinder, it is possible to extract electromagnetic waves in a frequency selective manner.
