Conventional AR glasses with central gratings obstruct the surgical view. To address this, we propose a novel optical layout positioning the diffraction grating in the upper peripheral visual field. We conducted an eye-tracking study to determine the ergonomically optimal angle for information acquisition. Based on the experimental findings, we present a medical AR diffraction grating design optimized with an inclination of approximately 20.5°.
