Environmental tests are used in a lot of industries and often use high-temperature and high-humidity conditions. Humidity sensors introduced in environmental-test chambers should be robust to such harsh conditions, however those used in commercial chambers have several challenges. To tackle these challenges, a new hygrometric method based on condensation with a heat pipe has been developed. Authors previously developed a new instrument to improve some properties of the method. However, its dynamic characteristics, such as response time and hysteresis, had not been investigated in detail. In this study, we investigated dynamic characteristics of the sensor under various temperature and humidity conditions aiming at application in humidity control. Relative humidity changes measured by the sensor closely tracked those measured by a chilled mirror hygrometer. Moreover, further improvements to the instrument significantly reduced drifts observed after humidity changes.
