Optical fiber sensing extends conventional point-based measurements to spatially distributed monitoring, while also enabling measurements in extreme environments where electronic components cannot operate. As a member of the TEPCO Group, which requires disaster prevention by seismic monitoring under high pressure and high temperature conditions and transmission line maintenance to ensure a stable power supply, we introduce the field applications of Distributed Acoustic Sensor (DAS) and three-axis optical accelerometers, as well as ongoing efforts toward future urban monitoring.
