Plasma-based enhancement of seed germination, plant growth, and crop yield has attracted increasing attention as an environmentally friendly technology for improving agricultural productivity. To advance social implementation, it is essential to elucidate the mechanisms underlying these irradiation effects. Here, we show establishment of the fundamental scientific principles, with a particular focus on the effects of plasma irradiation on seeds.
