In this study, structural analysis using Raman and FT-IR spectroscopy was conducted to elucidate the film structure suitable for Oxygen Reduction Reaction (ORR) activation of boron-doped DLC (B-DLC). The results revealed that maximum ORR activity was exhibited after B-doping in DLC films possessing both developed sp² clusters, which facilitate oxygen adsorption, and moderate hydrogen termination structures. This presentation reports on the mechanism by which the coexistence of these structural factors contributes to the activation.
