BiFeO3-BaTiO3 with compositions near the morphotropic phase boundary is known to exhibit ferroelectricity while presenting a pseudo-cubic diffraction pattern. Three-dimensional reciprocal space mapping was constructed from X-ray diffraction data obtained from a single-crystal specimen, and the crystal structure was systematically analyzed. The results demonstrate peak splitting and diffuse scattering features that cannot be accounted for by a cubic structural model, indicating the presence of ferroelectric domains and lattice distortions.
