Although the FF-MOD method is suitable for mass production, the high crystallinity of the films results in a low density of effective flux pinning centers and consequently a low critical current density under magnetic fields. Partial RE/Ba substitution can enhance Jc by introducing point defect like pinning centers. In this study, Y123 thin films partially substituted with light rare earth elements were fabricated, and the RE/Ba substitution level was controlled by adjusting the nominal RE composition and by adding a post-annealing process at 500 - 600 °C, aiming to improve the critical current properties.
