Opto-thermal trapping refers to a technique for trapping microparticles using temperature gradients generated by laser irradiation. In this presentation, we introduce an efficient opto-thermal trapping approach that directly heats the solvent using mid-infrared lasers at wavelengths of 2 μm and 3 μm, which coincide with the absorption bands of water hydroxyl (OH) groups.
