Recently, transverse thermoelectric generation based on anisotropies of thermoelectric properties in materials has been proposed, and intensive efforts have been devoted to the exploration of materials with high transverse thermoelectric performance. In this study, we focus on CaSi2, which is composed of earth-abundant elements and has an anisotropic layered crystal structure. Bulk single-crystalline CaSi2 was synthesized, and the anisotropy of its thermoelectric properties depending on crystal orientation was confirmed. In this presentation, we will introduce and discuss the detailed thermoelectric properties of CaSi2.
