The Seebeck coefficient is sensitive to the asymmetry of electronic states near the Fermi energy and can be enhanced when a van Hove singularity lies close to the Fermi energy. In Sr2RuO4, uniaxial strain shifts the van Hove singularity toward the Fermi energy. In the Sr2RuO4-Ru eutectic system, local strain is expected to arise internally without external pressure, potentially bringing the van Hove singularity closer to the Fermi energy in a similar way. However, it is difficult to quantitatively evaluate the strain at the interface between Ru and Sr2RuO4, and the impact of Ru-induced local strain on transport properties remains unclear. Here, we measure the Seebeck coefficient of Sr2RuO4-Ru eutectic system, evaluate interfacial strain by finite element analysis, and quantitatively discuss the results using transport calculations.
