Photocatalytic water splitting is gaining attention as a next-generation hydrogen production technology. However, practical implementation requires large-area, lightweight reaction devices. To overcome these challenges, we aimed to develop a gas-phase water splitting system that does not use liquid water. This study developed a novel method for fixing photocatalyst particles onto substrates without using binders suitable for gas-phase reactions, and evaluated gas-phase water splitting reactions using the fixed photocatalyst.
