BaFe2As2 (Ba122), an iron-based superconductor, offers high critical temperature and field, promising for high-field magnets. In polycrystalline, however, critical current is limited due to chemical composition, microstructure and grain boundary weak links. In this study, K doped Ba122 polycrystalline bulks are fabricated via two-step spark plasma sintering, evaluating pressure effects on microstructure and critical current properties. The presentation will also discuss the difference in flux pinning behavior between one-step SPS samples and two-step SPS samples.
