We analyzed the spin transfer dynamics in a TMDC/graphene hetero-bilayer under circularly polarized light pulse irradiation using real-time first-principles calculations based on the time-dependent density functional theory. We revealed that spin transfer from TMDC to graphene can be explained by the difference in density of states between the two layers and the Pauli blocking effect induced by spin-polarized excited carriers in TMDC.
