Air plasma can generate a wide variety of reactive species from air; however, the types of species that can be synthesized at high density or in a selective manner remain limited. In this study, we focus on the nitrate radical(NO3), for which synthesis examples are scarce due to its extremely high reactivity. High-density NO3 generation was achieved via thermal decomposition of N2O5, and sensitive quantitative measurements were performed using broadband cavity-enhanced absorption spectroscopy (BB-CEAS) combined with Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) . As a result, it was clarified that the NO3number density increases with an increasing density ratio of O3 to NO2 present as impurities in the gas phase.
