Dual-band organic photodetectors (DB-OPDs) are photodetectors that can selectively detect two different wavelength bands by bias voltage switching. We have successfully fabricated flexible DB-OPDs targeting wearable sensor applications. The resulting device selectively detects visible and near-infrared light, and has a thickness of merely 5.6 µm. Finally, we demonstrated peripheral oxygen saturation (SpO2) sensing by illuminating a human finger with a solar simulator and detecting the transmitted visible and near-infrared components with the device.
