A method for controlling particle aggregation and dispersion within a single system is important for bio-inspired active matter research. In this study, bidirectional particle transport was achieved by combining DC-biased AC electro-osmosis with laser irradiation. Reversible switching between particle aggregation and dispersion was demonstrated by changing the polarity of the DC bias.
