This presentation proposes a novel optical element based on the principle of voltage-driven gallium-based liquid metal flow addressing some problems.
For example, durability, power consumption, high cost, and large-area fabrication.
We investigated its application to a film-type optical shutter element utilizing a thin-film flow channel structure that eliminates the need for mechanical moving parts and microfabrication.
In this presentation, we report the results obtained regarding the thickness of the channel that affects stable operation.
