Dion–Jacobson two-dimensional perovskites, APbBr4, were synthesized using nitrogen-containing aromatic cations—2,2’-biimidazolium, 4,4’-biimidazolium, 2,2’-bipyrazinium, and 2,2’-bipyrimidinium. In this presentation, we discuss how differences in molecular structures, including ring size and nitrogen substitution positions, influence the interlayer spacing, distortion of the inorganic octahedra, and the optical properties.
