[17p-SL_101-5]Observation of crystallization in Eu-doped glass phosphor by in-situ X-ray total scattering and photoluminescence measurements

In-situ measurements of X-ray total scattering and optical properties were performed at SPring-8 (BL04B2) to investigate the relationship between the luminescence properties and crystallization of rare-earth-doped glass. In Eu-doped Ca-Ge-based glass, luminescence intensity increased near the glass transition temperature and reached its maximum at the crystallization temperature. PDF analysis using the total scattering data revealed that structural ordering contributes significantly to the enhancement of luminescence.
