The alignment state of columnar resist within micro-spaces containing the disc-shaped liquid crystal material HHTT was evaluated. Samples were prepared as liquid crystal cell structures with columnar resist formed on one side. Raman spectroscopy was used for alignment evaluation, with line measurements taken at 1μm intervals, suggesting that alignment disorder near the resist was less than 1μm.
