This paper reports second harmonic generation (SHG) in a two-dimensional periodic array of rectangular Si nanoparticle dimer. The study aims to significantly enhance the surface second-order nonlinear susceptibility by utilizing a high-Q resonance via quasi-bound state in the continuum (qBIC). The structures combining size-shifted and position-modified designs only exhibited strong SHG signals due to field enhancement caused by the high-Q resonance and the broken centro-symmetry.
