In this study, we focus on a wedge-shaped microdisk possessing mode spatial separation characteristics and propose a vertically coupled configuration to effectively exploit this property. Specifically, a smoothed cladding layer is formed on optical waveguides, and a microdisk is fabricated on top of the cladding layer using an inkjet printing method, aiming at coupling with multiple waveguides. In this presentation, we report the device fabrication process and the results of optical characterization.
