[18a-PB1-11]2D polymer models with controlled flexibilities using self-propelled ion gels

We report on a two-dimensional polymer model consisting of linked self-propelled ionic gels that exhibit autonomous motion on the water surface. In this study, we aimed to construct a two-dimensional polymer model with different flexibility by linking 25 ionic gels and controlling the bond angles that can be taken at the linkages. We experimentally demonstrated that different angle constraints result in different distributions of end-to-end distances.
