Cells interact and behave cooperatively to realize biological phenomena.Here, we investigate how information transmission within cell collectives leads to coordinated behavior.Aligned cells on a scaffold generated traction forces, inducing spontaneous scaffold deformation, indicating that cell collectives can autonomously regulate forces and produce collective morphological responses.
