We report the observation of magnetic skyrmions in Co/Pd multilayers fabricated by magnetron sputtering on an MgO (001) substrate. The skyrmion magnetic structure was observed by magnetic force microscopy (MFM), and the thermal transport properties (Nernst effect) were measured by Physical Property Measurement System (Quantum Design Co.) using an all-on-chip device. Magnetic structures taken by MFM potentially representing skyrmions were confirmed in the remanent state after applying a magnetic field near saturation (>= 2.5 kOe). Furthermore, the evolution of magnetic structures under an external magnetic field was observed by XMCD-transmission imaging performed at NanoTerasu. The relation between skyrmion structures and the ANE will also be discussed in detail.
